The Jesuit-led All India Catholic University Federation (AICUF) organized an interfaith observance of Sadbhavana Diwas (“Day of Goodwill”) at St. Xavier’s College in Mapusa, Goa, India, on August 17. The event included readings and reflections from different religious traditions in the presence of students and faculty. St. Xavier’s College is administered by the Archdiocese of Goa, while AICUF is a Jesuit-founded Catholic student movement.

Bishop Gerhard Feige of Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt, eastern Germany — conspicuously without his episcopal cross — posed alongside two Protestant church leaders to comment on yesterday’s AfD election victory in Saxony-Anhalt. The bishop is the small guy in the middle with the Karl Marx beard. In a joint statement, they expressed “great concern” and said the election had left the state divided. The AfD won 43.8%, becoming by far the strongest party.
